We never charge a fee for our services and we have access to interpretation and translation services so that we may assist non-English speaking clients. Though our offices are located in downtown Portland, we are able to assist clients from around the state. It is not necessary for clients to come to our offices since we are able to do most of our work by phone, email and fax.
How to ask us for help
In order to receive help, you must be a low income Oregonian with a federal tax problem. Please call one of our offices to see if you qualify.
Once we have confirmed that you meet our eligibility criteria, you will be asked to send us the most recent notices you have received from the IRS and the Department of Revenue. Within a few weeks, a tax advocate will call you to find out more about your specific problem. After we know more about your problem, we will determine whether we can provide assistance. If we cannot accept your case, we will try to give you some advice on how to represent yourself.
Please be aware that until you receive something in writing from us confirming that we have accepted your case, we do not represent you and you will have to meet any deadlines on your own.
